Women Supporting Women in Business

Published by kaya singer at 5:02 am under Success

30 years ago I started facilitating women’s support groups for abuse sruvivors and then moved into Unleashing the Wild Women groups and finally I helped organize week long women’s gatherings in my community in New Zealand. Now I help women in business to break free from limitations .

So I am drawn to working with women. I love men as well, don’t get me wrong. I have many male clients and close friends. Its just that I know that when I really want support I go to my women friends. They understand. Women give me that deep acknowledgment I need to overcome my current blocks. I do get wonderful support from men as well but its just.. different. I want to share one of my stories. Just the other day I was feeling lower than low. My self-esteem issues were set on high and I was feeling useless, not smart blah, blah. All my “stuff.”

The phone rang and it was my friend Jane in New Zealand. It was like the good witch of the west arrived with her wand ( see photo below). We talked a short while and I hung up and felt like a new person. All Jane said was a few words but they touched me right at the core and I knew I wasn’t alone. Then later that day she sent me this beautiful poem that she wrote. Here it is for you to enjoy. Please share your stories with me too. We all will benefit.

The truth about myself

I am already
all things good
Lovely, loveable and loving

Anything else I tell myself
Is a lie

Everyday I cleanse myself
not of my sin
But of the contaminating belief
of my own brokenness

Everyday I wake up out of the delusion
that I am not good enough
that I am not enough
Give comfort to those damaging voices
left raging inside my head

And give back the disapproving labels
Given by those
Who can only see out
of the eyes of their own shame
and from there all they can do is blame

Look into the mirror of my innocence
Weightless
And see the sweet smile of relief
Play on my face
And in my eyes

Let my own light dance in my heart
And know the truth
At last

Here are some of my women’s support!

    What a beautiful poem!

I so resonate with what you are saying here. I find myself constantly struggling with self doubting voices as well (“Who do you think you are?”) As I continue to follow my passion and my purpose in this life, I know that someday, money will also follow!

Remembering to nurture those wounded places rather than fight them or hide them is the key, but very hard to do at times.

Thank you so much for the lovely reminder.

    All the best, Karen DeBolt

Thanks for the reinforcement and sharing. I am not sure those voices ever are really gone but we can certainly make the other voices a lot bigger and more powerful.

Rhoda- glad you liked the poem.

    Kaya,
I feel filled with appreciation for your understanding of the “unknown world of money” that so many of us are in. Please keep the gems of wisdom coming through.

I see that you are just going deeper and deeper on this journey and that you are willing to share.

Itis sooo wonderful that you are visiting my blog!! Thanks so much for being part of my whole story. That unknown world of money is still a bit unknown for me but it is beginning to be clearer. You are doing it as well. I wish I could just pop over and have a spa with you right now!
